Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
- We can't see which apps you block or what you do in them. Apple keeps that private, even from us.
- We never see your messages, photos, contacts or browsing.
- Your account saves your setup and progress so you never lose them, plus the short answers and reasons you type in the app.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, any time.
This policy explains how Nomato ("Nomato", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Nomato iPhone app and this website. Nomato is made by Amarendra Mishra. If you have a question, email amarendram793@gmail.com.
1. What we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a user ID and, if you share it, your email address. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email; we then get a private relay address from Apple. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
What you tell Nomato
To personalize the app and keep it in sync across your phones, we save:
- the first name you enter,
- your answers during setup (for example, what your phone is doing to you and what you'd do with time back) and the estimate of your daily screen time,
- your settings: how strict Nomato is, your schedules and rules, your focus timer setup, your weekly goal and whether the uninstall guard is on,
- the reasons you type when you unlock an app or end a session early, with a timestamp and a general label such as "your apps" (never the real app name, which Apple doesn't share with us),
- if you turn off the uninstall guard, the reason and any note you leave.
Your progress
Daily totals: minutes focused, times you resisted a locked app, number of unlocks, and minutes spent in your blocked apps. These are counts only.
Screen Time data stays with Apple
Nomato uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) to lock apps. When you pick apps, Apple gives Nomato an encrypted token, not the app names. The list of apps you pick, and your detailed app usage, stay on your iPhone and are never sent to us.
Purchases
Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card or payment details. Our purchase provider, RevenueCat, tells us whether you have a plan (trial, weekly or lifetime), which product it is and when it renews or ends.
Usage analytics
To understand which parts of Nomato help people, we record product events, such as which screens are viewed, whether setup was finished, when a focus session finishes and whether a plan was bought. These events include basic device information (phone model, iOS version, app version, language) and an approximate location (country and region) derived from your IP address. They never include the reasons or answers you type, your app list or your messages. Once you sign in, these events are linked to your account ID.
Things that never leave your phone
Notifications are created on your device. Your theme, language and sound settings stay on your device.
2. Why we use it
- To run the app: lock your apps, run your focus sessions, show your progress and keep your plan active.
- To keep your data safe across phones: so signing in on a new iPhone brings back your setup and history.
- To improve Nomato: reading anonymous-by-default analytics and, occasionally, the reasons people unlock or leave, so we can make the app more helpful.
- To support you: when you email us.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example, in the EU or UK), we rely on performing our contract with you (running the app you signed up for), our legitimate interest in improving and securing Nomato, and your consent where we ask for it (for example, notifications and Screen Time access, which you can withdraw in iOS Settings).
3. Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers. They process data only to provide their service to us.
| Provider | What for | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts and cloud save (servers in the United States) | Account ID, email, your setup, progress and the text you type in the app |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, payments, Screen Time | Handled under Apple's own privacy policy |
| Sign in with Google | Handled under Google's own privacy policy | |
| RevenueCat | Managing your plan | Account ID, purchase and subscription status |
| PostHog | Product analytics (United States) | Product events, device information, approximate location |
We don't sell your personal information. We don't share it for advertising, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your profile, progress, typed reasons, feedback and plan status are deleted from our database right away. Copies in routine backups are removed within 30 days. Analytics events are kept for up to 12 months. Apple keeps its own purchase records, as required by law.
5. Your choices and rights
- Delete everything: in Nomato, go to Settings, Account, Delete account.
- Turn off permissions: Screen Time access and notifications can be turned off any time in iOS Settings.
- Ask us: you can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by emailing amarendram793@gmail.com. We'll reply within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, the UK or California), you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to object to or restrict some processing. We honor these rights for everyone, wherever you live. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. Your account data can only be read by you: our database enforces that each person can only access their own rows.
7. Children
Nomato is meant for people aged 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has made an account, email us and we'll delete it.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
